Merlin the Egg

For our first assignment, we were given an egg and basically told to do something creative with it?! Then bring it back to class and discuss what we came up with.

I first tried to turn my egg that was given to me into a golden egg using my embossing kit for scrapbooking. The egg was starting to look somewhat neat until it started smelling horrible and burning my fingers from the heat I had to apply to melt the gold dust onto the shell. Soon after the the smell egg began to sweat! There were literally drops of water forming on the outside of the shell! Who knew eggs sweated under pressure? Trash can for the egg and off to bed for me. ATTEMPT ONE: Fail

After seeing what happened to my golden egg, the next morning I decided to start over again, this time avoiding heat! I blew out the inside of the egg so I would have one less thing to worry about. I then painted my egg blue with some stripes and carefully glued blue pieces of fabric to it. It now resembles my pet fish Merlin! Not sure what I'm going to say about Mr. Merlin, probably something about how terrible I am when I comes to pets, so I only buy fish. Hopefully, Merlin the Egg doesn't fall apart or have some sort of tragic fall like Humpty Dumpty before I can make it to class, fingers crossed!
